Tournament of Roses Parade and the Rose Bowl

Traffic will be impacted with closures in the Pasadena area before and during these events.


The 129th Rose Parade

Parade route surface street closures will take effect beginning 10:00 p.m., Sunday, December 31 with most ending at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 1, 2018.  See map below.

The Colorado Bridge will also be closed beginning at 12:00 a.m. on January 1 and ending at 11:00 a.m. on January 1.

Event starts at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 1, 2018.

Transit 

Pasadena transit will not be in service on January 1.

You can take the Metro Gold Line to the parade and game.   Metro will operate a Sunday/Holiday schedule on Monday, January 1, with enhanced service on Metro Rail for the Rose Parade and Rose Bowl Game.

Stations near Rose Parade Route:

Del Mar Station (Walk 2 blocks north to Parade Route)

Memorial Park (Walk 2 blocks south to Parade Route)

Lake Station (Walk 4 blocks south to Parade Route)

Allen Station (Walk 4 blocks south to Parade Route)

 

Valley Residents: Take Line 501 to the Rose Parade and bypass Downtown LA. The cost to ride the express line is $2.50 for one way travel.

Buy roundtrip fare for only $3.50 in stored value, or purchase a Metro Day Pass for $7!  All fares must be loaded onto your own, reusable TAP card, which cost just $1 and must be tapped before each boarding.

Note: Due to the large crowds expected to come out for the Rose Bowl Game, oversized items such as umbrellas, chairs and coolers will not be permitted on the trains New Year’s day.

 

Metrolink will be offering special train service to L.A. Union Station from Riverside-Downtown, Antelope Valley and San Bernardino and transfer to the Metro Gold Line on Monday, January 1, for the Rose Parade.


Rose Bowl College Football Playoff Semifinal

Game starts at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, January 1, 2018.  The Rose parade route closures and the above closures on I-210, SR-134, and I-710 off ramps and on ramps will be in effect and will impact travel to the game. All surface streets in Pasadena parade route are planned to open by 2:00 p.m.  For current traffic impact please visit the live traffic map.

You can also take the Metro Gold Line to the parade and game.  Take the Metro Gold Line to Memorial Park Station in Pasadena; then it’s just a short walk to Parsons Parking Lot B for the free shuttle that drops you off next to the stadium. Rose Bowl shuttle service begins at 10 a.m. on Jan. 1 and runs until 90 minutes after the game.
